Come join the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge as we are proud to host a presentation from our very own Student Conservation Association (SCA) biotech intern Thomas Brangs. Thomas will delve into research/field techniques carried out during his summer spent studying abroad with the School for Field Studies in Queensland, Australia. Facets of his work focused on invasive species monitoring, forest ecology, citizen science, and much, much more. How much more you ask? Join us for this presentation to find out! Saturday, August 15, 6 pm. Valley Vibes: Phenology – the science of the seasons. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center. Phenology is everywhere around us & something we take note of without realizing it. Phenology is the measurement of the timing of key seasonal changes. Recently a group of volunteers have begun a phenology monitoring program. This presentation will be about phenology & the progress of this program.
